Bharat Mukti Morcha congratulates people of Tiracol for uniting against Golf and luxury tourism. What is remarkable about Tiracol is that even those people who had taken money from the hoteliers have now turned their backs on the project and vowed to protect their land from Ganguly and his associate predators.  Bharat Mukti Morcha also appreciates efforts of the local catholic priest in Tiracol Church in uniting people against the Golf and luxury tourism after his predecessor had forced people to surrender their land for Golf Course and luxury tourism plans and accept money.

Tiracol has set up very hopeful trend that even if people accept money they can be convinced to turned their back on temptations for money and struggle again to protect their ancestral land. It is hoped that this situation also emerges in Vanxim and those people who accepted money turn against the Bamon Mahendra Gaunekar and Ozone corporate. Like Tiracol people in Vanxim too has taken huge amount of cash to surrender their rights over paddy fields in Vanxim.

Tiracol is an example that stands as role model for the people of Vanxim and rest of Goa to turn against the Golf and Luxury project even though many of them have accepted cash. Maggie Silveira’s family has refused all the offers of money and is leading Bharat Mukti Morcha’s agitation for Liberation. That’s the reason Maggie Silveira has been charged with robbery case involving Tripod, along with three other ladies Anuradha Volvoikar, Swati Kerker and Deepika Tari when ladies confronted corporate staff in Vanxim and confiscated Tripod on November 10, 2011. They were placed under arrest in unethical manner on November 12, 2011. 

This case came up for hearing on November 18, 2014. The three ladies had a corporate lawyer defending them with additional legal staff of Bamon Mahendra Gaunekar and Ozone corporate as the three ladies named above have accepted money and compromised. It is a mere act of slavery. Maggie has a separate lawyer to defend her as she goes about in uncompromising manner as far as Vanxim land is concerned. As Goans we have to save Goa and not get into slavery with Bamons like Gaunekar and Corporate bodies such as Ozone. This is what Maggie is. She is not the slave of Eurasian Bamons, or of the corporate. She is for Goa. She is for Vanxim. Viva Maggie! Viva Vanxim!

People of Tiracol coming together means everything to save Mulnivasi land

Bharat Mukti Morcha congratulates Tiracol villagers for their uncompromising stand on opposition to golf course and the land grab. The villagers are united the banner of St.Anthony Tenant and Mundcar Association.

According to the information received from Tiracol promoter of Leading hotels ltd Sandeep Ganguly who is hell bent on taking over land of Tiracol people to set up golf course had a meeting with the villagers two days ago. He had recently stirred up storm in the State of Goa by declaring to the press that he would start up the work on golf course in Tiracol from October 2013 onwards. Local group of mulnivasis organised as St.Anthony Tenants and Mundkar Association had waged strong criticism on this as it involved taking over of large track of lands for the project. Already the State administration has been transformed into bamon raj institution and 55 mulnivasi families of Tiracol has been stripped off their land titles.

Sandeep Ganguly had called for the meeting in respect of buying up of land for Golf Course in Tiracol. According to the reports published in Marathi daily Goa doot (9^th July 2013) Sandeep Ganguly promised that he will give up the desire to buy up the land of the members of the St.Anthony Tenant and Mundkar Association.  Members of the Association then asked Ganguly to give this in writing. Ganguly refused on the spot saying that he has to take legal advise before giving anything in writing.

According to the published reports Leading hotels has captured 1 lakh 75 thousand square meters of land in Tiracol but it is not in possession of the company due to the fierce opposition of the villagers. The hidden motive behind  this meeting few days ago was to initiate truce with the villagers in uproar so that company can take possession of the land.

Villagers of Tiracol belonging to St.Anthony Tenant and Mundcar Association retorted to Ganguly that in case he is serious about returning the captured land back to the villagers then he must first get the respective government officers involved in the matter.

Ganguly’s assertion that he will change the nature of the project in the face of opposition from the villagers came up for criticism as this means Ganguly is merely fooling the public of Tiracol as he has no real intention to returned captured land back to the Tiracol villagers.

Villagers refused to accepts any of the propositions of Ganguly till he does not withraw all the cases filed against them in Mamlatdar’s court and legally return back their land. Further villagers declared that no company official will be allowed entry into the village till the cases against them are withdrawn.

According to the reports in press local catholic priest Fr. Teo Jose Fernandes has declared his support to the agitating villagers two days ago. He declared that under circumstance of gravest risks Tiracol must be saved from the company preying on Tiracol.  Press report also observes that earlier priest in Tiracol was openly lobbying for the company and was pressurizing the Tiracol villagers to sell their land to the company wanting to set up golf course.

The earlier Catholic Priest Fr.Rocklyn D’costa compromised with the company and accepted lakhs of rupees and caused grave set back to the people agitating to protect Tiracol. Presently he is at Holy Trinity Parish Church, Benualim as a Parish Priest. Be aware people of Benaulim when such a person is serving a parish consisting of 5,550 parishioners. Tiracol was just 200 parishioners.

Already battle against another golf course is ongoing in Vanxim, Tiswadi where Bamon Archbishop Felipe Neri Ferrao himself sold Vanxim and Court cases are going on in Deputy collector’s court, Mamlatdar’s court and Administrative Tribunal Court to strip mulnivasis of their tenancy rights.  Both these projects are the projects of Bamon raj to take away control of land from mulnivasis.

People of Tiracol has set a good example - even though they are few in numbers – for the rest of Goa by coming forward to save Tiracol.

Bharat Mukti Morcha condemns Bamon aggression in Terekhol

Bharat Mukti Morcha strongly condemns golf course projects in Terekhol in Pernem and Vanxim in Tiswadi talukas of Goa. In both the cases mulnivasi people who are tenants as per land records are sought to be dispossessed of their land. In both the instances it is bamons who are directly responsible for aggression on mulnivasis.

In Terekhol golf goons of Bamon Raj entered the mulnivasi people’s land and committed aggression on the green hill on 30^th August 2012. Then on 5^th September 2012 these bamon raj’s golf goons entered tenanted property and cut down around 50 cashew trees. Villagers complained and ceased the machinery of golf goons.

In spite of opposition from local villagers Terekhol has been shown as settlement zone and Golf course is marked in draft RP 2021. The same is case in Vanxim: in spite of protest against the hotel project and gold course water body under survey number 8 is marked as settlement zone, that too for hotel only in draft RP 2021. Of course in case of Vanxim as per joint development agreement between Ozone group of corporate and Bamon Mahendra Gaunekar entire Vanxim island is to be turned into settlement zone, retaining wall to be built around entire island, mining rejects to be transported into Vanxim for the elevation purpose, Mahendra Gaunekar to acquire entire title of Vanxim legally and will then transfer it to Ozone group for the purpose of constructing golf course, luxury villas, helipad, private marina etc.

The golf aggression is ongoing in both the villages only because of Bamon Raj. Bharat Mukti Morcha calls for total decimation of bamon Raj responsible for these trickster affairs in Terekhol and Vanxim. None of the tenants in any of these villages are Bamons, all of them are mulnivasi.

In both the villages Bamons have invited wrath from the mulnivasis and Bharat Mukti Morcha will be extremely generous in dishing out mulnivasi wrath. In fact the process has already begun. On Sunday 16 September 2012 Bharat Mukti Morcha organized solidarity meeting with Terekhol villager in the village. Bamon Raj was publicly attacked by various speakers who spoke on the occasion. Archbishop of Goa diocese Bamon Felipe Neri Ferrao came in for special criticism for selling Vanxim for Golf Course project.

Goa’s State as well as religious bodies leadership is captured by bamons and are busy selling away land, honor and dignity of mulnivasi people in Goa. Archbishop Bamon Felip Neri Ferrao is one example as to how Bamons have captured top leadership positions.
