The towering relevance of Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar in Goa

It was on this day 31st July in 1937 that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had predicted that in the times ahead there will be freedom of Brahmins to rule over us and we have to organize to fight it. He delivered his speech in Dhule, Maharashtra. In 1937 Brahmins had only one political party namely Congress Party. In the same speech Vishwratna Mahamanav Dr.Bhimarao Ambedkar said “From the analysis of Congress politics if I had to conclude anything then I can see only one conclusion and that is prosperity of Brahmins.”

What Dr. Ambedkar said in 1937 has come true completely. The entire country has been ruled by Brahmins to affect their own prosperity and prosperity of their caste allies. Today there are many Brahmanical Parties in India besides Congress. BJP is also one of them. MGP is another one. Both these parties together are ruling in Goa. Mulnivasis are  organizing to revolt against the Bamon Raj in Goa. Bharat Mukti Morcha (BMM) is getting increasing acceptance.  As a result Bamons and their cronies are getting jittery and are trying various means to suppress mulnivasi people in Goa.

Today Brahminical government has sent call letter to Vincent Dias, an activist of BMM from Colomba, Sanguem under section 149 of CrPC that empowers police officer to summon any one for investigation to prevent commissioning of cognizable offence and make that person wait endlessly at the police station with the intention of demoralizing the movement. This time the target of Home Minister and Chief Minister Bamon Manohar Parrikar is Roman Catholic mulnivasi Vincent Dias. This call letter comes after less than a week Rama Velip was subjected to Police Harassment.

Vincent Dias is called at the Police Station at 16.00 hours on 1st August 2012. Bharar Mukti Morcha once again condemns police harassment of Colomba villagers agitating to overthrown Bamon Raj in India. Police harassment like this will only speed up the spread of BMM across the state of Goa. The days are over when mulnivasis people of Goa were fooled by Bamons and the days of their rule over mulnivasis are numbered.

Today BMM Marmagoa Taluka President Nadeem Ahmed, a mulnivasi Muslim from Vasco received a call from the mobile number 8104774200 wherein the speaker claimed to be speaking from Intelligence bureau, Delhi Police at 11.15 am. The speaker refused to disclose his name told Nadeem that arrest warrant has been issued against him as the case against him has been filed in Delhi under section 420 of Indian Penal Code and Goa Police will make arrest. Interestingly he also gave the phone number of one Advocate Bharatwaj as 09828184311 to know more details about this matter. However every time this number was dialed response was that it is switched off.  This is an act of suppressing liberation movement of mulnivasi people of India and deserves fitting retaliation. Bharat Mukti Morcha condemns pressure tactics against BMM Marmagoa Taluka, President Nadeem Ahmed. This kind of pressure tactics proves the effectiveness of Bharat Mukti Morcha activities in Goa. BMM takes strong objections to the vested interests trying to pressurize Bharat Mukti Morcha activists across the State of Goa.

The two incidents of the day points out to the increasing relevance of thoughts of Mahamanav Dr.Bhimrao Ambedkar and BMM stands committed in its resolve to continue its struggle with determination.

‘Segregation’, one dangerous problem

If you look at it in ordinary perspective adivasis have lots of problems, but from the perspective of agitation, if we think then segregation is the biggest problem of adivasis. Biggest problem of SC people is untouchability and untouchability is dangerous slavery. Since today SC people have realized and that’s why they are standing up against the one who created the system of untouchability and are carrying the fight for the past 150 years. But the dangerous problem of segregation till today has not been realized by adivasis. There is no literature available in society about this problem.

Our enemies (people from ruling castes) broke some mulnivasi brother and made them untouchables. Those who were made untouchables realized their untouchability and that’s why they revolted against it. After adivasis were separated, they were segregated, but do adivasis themselves have realization of their segregation? No, because they do not have the information. Realization comes about afterwards, first they must have information. From information realization comes about. There is no history available that there was any agitation that took place in the past against the slavery of the adivasis. Enemy segregated adivasis but today adivasis want to keep themselves aloof.

In modern democratic system various political parties are founded. Gangs are always of dacoits, robbers, and anti-social elements. Like in India there is Congress Party, BJP Party, they are called national parties. Election commission has recognized them. Law recognizes them. But ever government recognizes gang? The party that has been given recognition by government is not parties, they are gangs. The anti-social elements of these parties after taking people’s verdicts carry on every type of anti-social activities. And these anti-social elements say that public has given us verdict to do ‘this’ way. These gangs create agents (dalals and bhadwas) amongst our people. Amongst adivasis too this process of creating anti-social elements is ongoing because our enemy wants keep adivasis segregated. What will happen with this? Adivasis population in India is 7.5%. Even if all these adivasis unite even then there will be no solution to their problem. That was no where it is evident that 100% people are united. Yet for a while lets accept that India’s 100% adivasis unite even then their percentage will be just 7.5%.

Based on 7.5% of the country’s population how can adivasis succeed in their freedom struggle? Logic, proof and wisdom tell us that based of 7.5% population it is not possible to fight the war of independence and succeed.

We are told that freedom struggle started in 1857. But in reality Adivasis struggle is ongoing since 1757. It is matter of self-reflection and self-evaluation to examine whether they have succeeded in struggle that has been going on since 1757. There is evidence in front of us that this struggle has not succeeded. Why it did not succeed? This is because only adivasis were involved in this agitation. Leaders were Adivasis, representatives were adivasis, public that was involved was also adivasis; that’s why enemy got the opportunity to suppress. The effect of this was that our enemy succeeded but adivasis did not succeed.

Amongst adivasis Jannayak Birsa Munda was a great fighter. He was not educated but even then he was a fighter. To be illiterate, and to become literate are separate ideas and to be a fighter is separate idea. It is not requirement that intelligence develops only through being literate. Intelligence develops by application of mind. This does not mean that there is no need to read-write. Certainly it is needed. We had our representatives, we had such a great fighters even then freedom struggle did not succeed.  The reason for this is that by staying in isolation and segregation this fight will not succeed. Staying in isolation will reward us only and only with beatings. We have an example in front of us when in 1984 Brahmins united to hatch a conspiracy and attacked Golden Temple that time religious sentiments of Sikhs were hurt. When attack took place on Sikhs that time all other non-Brahmin members of various religions such Jains, Buddhists, Muslims, Christians, all of them think that this is a problem of Sikhs, it is hardly our problem. After that on 6th December 1992 Ayodhya Masjid was pulled down. When Golden Temple was attacked that time people from all other religions kept silent. When Babri Masjid was pulled down that time Sikh said this is a problem of Muslims, it is not our problem. Brahmin is clever that when he is beating Sikhs that time he takes Muslims along with him.

Sikhs has to be beaten up by keeping Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Jains along the side of enemy. When Muslims are beaten up that time he (enemy) keeps Sikhs with him and Brahmin tells Sikhs that when last time Sikhs were beaten up in that Muslims were involved that’s why time has come to show Muslims their place. In this way Sikh begin to beat up Muslims this way. When Churches are attacked, Christian priests are attacked, Buddhist temple at Gaya attacked that time other people keep silent. Our enemy first separates people and then attacks them. Adivasis must take lessons from this example.

If adivasis remain in segregation then they will be beaten up, and will be beaten up again and again. Biggest struggle in freedom struggle is segregation. Adivasis have feelings of staying separate; the work is ongoing of boosting this feeling. Those who are trying to encourage adivasis segregation is tying keep adivasis enslaved. The ongoing work of making slave is of two types. One is innocently. The second one is through organized ignorance. We do not get to know anything about organized ignorance. We are made to think in such a way that we go about thinking that our thinking itself is correct thinking. When you are not willing to accept anything else, it is called organized ignorance. If because of this conspiracy segregation continue to persist then slavery of adivasis will never end. There is only one option to end slavery of adivasis; segregation of adivasis must be ended. After ending segregation they must be involved in the freedom struggle. The only way to make freedom struggle successful: first we have to search people are beaten up by the system.

When two beaten up people up people will meet them both of them will share the feelings of empathy, both will understand the pain of each other. Both will speak a common language. When the language of will be spoken then realization will come amongst people.

Part 5: Ruling Castes' betrayal of Adivasis

By Waman Meshram, National President, Bharat Mukti Morcha

Effects of racial discrimination: nation and society handicapped

The result of 50 years of Independence is that today country has nearly 50 lakh bonded labourers. One’s father took loan from the money lender but did not pay it back. In order to pay up the loan that man started to work at the house of money lender and died while working. Loan repayment remained incomplete. In order to pay back remainder of loan his son started working at the house of money lender. He died while working to repay the remainder of loan. Then his son also took up working at the house of this money lender. In this way people working at the house of money lender to repay the loans are nearly 50 lakh people.

Children below 14 years (That are working due to absence of school education to them) are made to work like a bull but as compared to the work they are unable to get the sufficient money. There is law made not to keep these kinds of children on jobs but this law is not enforced.  The number of these kind of children too is running in crores. The handicapped people in our country is numbering around one and half crore and their life is insecure. The children become handicap because their mother does not get sufficiently nutritious food. 25 lakh women in the country have been raped and all these women are from SC, ST, and OBC communities. These are the figures of Independent India.

There are 35 lakh such poor women in order to earn their livelihood and livelihood of their families, are forced to sell their bodies. This too is a gift from the same system. These are also the mulnivasis from this country who are suffering from different problems. In our country one and half crore people are victims of disease called tuberculosis (T.B). Those who do get sufficiently nutritious food, their bodies are weakened and unable to fight back, that’s why they fall victims to T.B.

These figures about health are from World Health organization. This is just not the question of huger-deaths. If we look at all these figures then we could see that in our entire society has been made handicap.

Some people reason out that all this has taken place because of population. But then the question arises that ‘is population increasing only of mulnivasis?’ If this situation results from increase in population then it means people who are increasing the population are responsible. Who increased this population? Population increased only because of those who ruled this country.

Those who planned this are not ready to take responsibility. How will agitation rise up? Agitation rises by making enemy known. Those people who recognize their enemy only those people are able awaken their nation. The people who are pushing our entire society into desperation are not willing to take this responsibility. They are the same people who created ‘hunger-line’ which is below ‘poverty line’.

In a way ruling caste has embarked upon program of killing our people. Country’s government agencies’ statistics tell us that lakhs of tons of wheat are being eaten by rats, some wheat rot if they are kept in the storehouses for long period of time. Ruling caste can feed the grains from government store houses to the rats, can waste grains, but practically those who are in need of grain, and government does not take any serious steps to reach these grains to the needy people. People falling victims to hunger-deaths due to shortage of grains, they are dying, but government doesn’t bother. Direct meaning of this is that ruling caste in order to reduce population has embarked on program to kill us.

The way they have behaved with SC, ST, OBC and converted mulnivasis (minorities) during the past 59 years, it is like the behavior of foreign ruler. When discussion took place on the topic ‘Caste and Caste discrimination’ in Durban (South Africa) Indian government entered into a secret pact with Pakistan. The same people who incite us every day against Pakistan, the same people went to Durban and entered into secret pact with Pakistan. Media shows us every day that BJP and Congress fighting against each other but when people from both these parties went to Durban and together to formed delegation. Whenever our question used to rose on world forum that time these people used to go there and speak unity against us. Then they come here and make a drama of fighting against each other. The kind of treatment they are giving us as if they are foreigners is an effect of racism. Yugoslavia is an example of this.

What does it signify when the rulers of this country push its people towards hunger-deaths? If this not the stand of foreigner, then what is it? When the news of hunger-deaths were televised and published in the newspaper that time central government says that ‘Orissa government says that they died by eating roots.’

When those people do not get wheat to eat, rice to eat, other grains to eat then, if they do not eat roots then what will they eat? There are grains but no capacity to purchase them. World famous Nobel Prize winner who was awarded ‘Bharat Ratna’ for his economic theory says that in India most death in Adivasis localities take place due to the reason of hunger-death (malnutrition). People fall prey to hunger-death because they do not have money to buy grains. Their immunity power has reduced. Hunger-death (malnutrition) means body does not get enough food.

Today too there are crores of people who have no luck to get one meal a day. Nearly 30 crore people live in slums. In this too there are large scale untouchables or adivasis. If Orissa adivasis had immunity then would they have eaten roots? If there were not to eat roots then would they have died? Does immunity of untouchables, Adivasis finished on its own? If their immunity got finished on its own then why immunity of upper caste people did not get finished? From where the upper caste got so much wealth that their next seven generation can rest at home and yet lives in comfort? Do all this happen on its own or is it created deliberately? If this is done deliberately then who is responsible for it? Are those responsible who are dying of hunger-deaths (malnutrition) or are those people who are ruling this country for thousands of years? When our people die a miserable death due to hunger even then nations judiciary orders to make provisions of rulings caste people and our people are caught in this trap.

Those people who get frustrated due to their various reason either they commit suicide or take up arms. Both these options are dangerous for ruling castes and that’s they enact drama of making provision to the victimized people. In a single country two contrasting type of people are visible. When even after demanding people do not get their fundamental rights then these people pick up arms. After picking up arms they snatch their rights from ruling castes. People in arms are tagged as naxalites, terrorists, and then are shot dead.

This is a picture of our present times. Ruling caste people dies not understand pain and suffering of mulnivasis from here and neither do they desire to understand because mulnivasis from here are not from their race. That’s why they have driven mulnivasis in pitiable state. This is a solely and wholly a consequence of racial discrimination because of which they behave like foreigners with us.

Part 4: Ruling Castes' betrayal of Adivasis

By Waman Meshram, National President, Bharat Mukti Morcha

Creation of Hunger-deaths line

Some months ago on behalf of Government of India Planning Commission released some statistics to media. Most often no government department discloses correct data, but shares false data, this fact is not hidden from anyone. Even then the statistics that that Planning commission disclosed if were believed as truth then Planning Commission has to say that in India nearly 20 crore people are victims of malnutrition. Later on central government too published these figures. Ruling caste people are very clever; they use the word ‘malnutrition’.

Our illiterate people do not understand the meaning of the word ‘malnutrition’ and they pass it off as a name of some disease. Ruling caste people use the word ‘malnutrition’ in hindi it is ‘kuposhan’ because if they use the word ‘hunger-death’ in hindi ‘bhookmari’ then forget about literate people even illiterate people would understand the meaning of this word. Ruling caste wants to hide the statistics of those to whom it has pushed into hunger-deaths. People own their own do not reach the brink of hunger-death; they are pushed into hunger-death in planned manner. If people come to about this then not only in India but through the world there will be reactions to this. In order to prevent this ruler of the country use the word ‘malnutrition’. Even common man is conversant with the word ‘bhookmari’ (hunger-death) because he dies as he is a victim of it.

At a time when Gandhi used to promote freedom struggle that time he used to assure public that when Country will be freed nations last man will be happy, will be prosperous. When country got independence from British that time 18 crore people used to live below poverty line. 59 years have passed since ruling caste got freedom from British; people living below poverty line instead of declining from 18 crore rose up to 40 crore. Actually this is also gross understatement as government always plays around with figures. In order to show people living poverty line less per capita income is shown more and their number is reduced. If we keep this in mind and then calculate then nearly 60 crore people will be seen as living below poverty line.

Before the programs of Privatization, Liberalization and Globalization began there never used be discussion on ‘bhookmari’ (hunger-deaths). Prior to starting of LPG program then Finance minister said in his Parliament speech that ‘we are starting this program of LPG meaning privatization, liberalization and globalization in order to finish poverty in India.

When LPG began then there was only one line named ‘poverty line’. In the decade of 1990s when privatization, liberalization and globalization program was started poverty line did not vanish but a new line emerged whose name is ‘hunger-death’ line. That this line has emerged is part of very big conspiracy. It is a part of planned conspiracy. Ruling caste think that I we do not finish mulnivasis then mulnivasis will finish us. In jungle law of this world one who is strong survives by catching and killing the weak one, and moves ahead. Our enemy (ruling castes) is victims of psychological fear. They think that ‘if I do not finish them then they will finish me.’

That’s why for the past one and a half decade enemy has enforced the program of Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization. After enforcing this program of Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization 250 welfare were stopped. Central government closing down these schemes resulted in our people on whom central government used to spend money, government that used make budgetary provisions to those living below poverty line, government stopped this budgetary provisions. This resulted in 20 crore 85 lakh people pushed on the brink of hunger-deaths.

Adivasis in Orissa’s Kalahandi and neighboring region do not get grains to eat. There people survive by eating boiled mango seeds. Due to absence of grains people are dying of hunger-deaths. When people die then government agencies say that the deaths occurred by eating boiled mango seeds. Government even refrains from taking responsibility of their death.

In the storehouses of Food Corporation of India every year rats eat grains worth four thousand crore. Our county’s prime minister, agriculture minister when they tour abroad speaks with bravado saying that ‘our country is making daily huge progress in terms of cultivation of grains. There is so much grain harvested in our country that there is shortage of place to store it.’ Government report says that in the store houses of Food Corporation of India every year grains lakhs of tones are stagnated.

When Jaswant Singh was finance minister of India that time of the MPs asked in Parliament that ‘when thousands of tons of food grains are rotting in government storehouses, they why that grains are not reaching to the people?’ That time Jaswant Singh answered that ‘it cost to transport this stagnant grain to the people and government does not have money to bear transport cost.’ On the other hand Jaswant Singh allotted 400 crore rupees to ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) in order to prepare for mission to moon. Yet after being asked in Parliament he says that government is unable to bear transport cost for transporting grains from government storehouses to the people.

Government makes budgetary allocations but does not release funds. Till funds are not released grains will keep stagnating in storehouses. When grains will not be reaching to our people then they will die of hunger-deaths in spite of grains being around in government storehouses. This example explains that in a planned manner our people are pushed on the brink of hunger-deaths.
