Students threatened and abused at Dr. Ambedkar English High school, Kuchelim, Mapusa

Date: 21/08/2013

To

The Director

Directorate of Education

Porvorim Bardez-Goa.

Sub.: Follow up to our complaint dated 30/7/2013 regarding Corporal punishment to students.

 Sir,

This is regarding our complaints dated 30/7/2013 regarding corporal punishment meted out to a few students of std. VIth by   Mr. Dattaram Chari under the influence of alcohol in Dr. Ambedkar English High school, Kuchelim, Mapusa Bardez-Goa on 25/07/2013.

As soon as the Manager of the School Mr. N.G. Akhargekar got the information

regarding our complaint filed in the Education Department , he on 19/08/2013 called me ( Mast. Gautam Kamble, student of class IX) in the school office during 5th period at 11. 40 a.m. and asked me to withdraw the complaint filed in the Education Department on 30/07/2013.

I was forcefully kept in the office for two periods i.e. 5th and 6th from 11.40 a.m. to 12. 50 p.m.  whereby I missed two periods. I was put under duress to sign the document to withdraw the complaint stating that it was false and that the said teacher had not under the influence of alcohol beat any student of the school but I boldly resisted the pressure.  Also he tried to threaten me by saying he will put me in trouble if I didn’t agree to withdraw the complaint filed in the department.

Before appearing for the Mid-term Exam on 20/8/2013 the manager also asked me whether I have taken decision regarding withdrawal of the complaint or not?

It is also learnt that the manager Mr. Akhargekar, visited houses of Dadapir Honnalli and Akash Nandurkar, students of Std. VIth on 19/8/2013 and asked the parents and victims to withdraw the complaints which they had filed in the Police Station at Karaswada Mapusa Goa against Mr. Dattaram Chari on 25/7/2013.

On 21/8/2013 during the 2nd period the manager called Dadapir Honnalli in the school office, caught hold of his shirt collar and asked him to sign on a blank paper Dadapir denied to sign and ran from the office to the classroom.

During the 5th period (P.E.) students of Std. VIth were playing on the playground, the manager and Mr. Chari went on the playground and called Dadapir. As Dadapir approached them the manager threatened him by telling he would  take Dadapir in the High Court for not withdrawing the complaint. Dadapir said   “I have not made any mistake. Chari sir had beaten me I will not withdraw my complaint.”  Then the manager started abusing Dadapir by giving him filthy words (words does not suit ethics of this blog, hence omitted from publishing here. Words are prevalent in the original complaint to the director of education).

After that he visited Dadapir’s house in Dadpir’s absence and asked his mother to give in writing that Mr. Chari is not the accused and the complaint made by them is false, but his mother denied to do so.

Instead of taking any action against the accused teacher the manager is trying to pressurize and harass me and the victim students and their parents to withdraw the complaint thereby trying to settle the matter and protect the accused. As revenge to our complaint Mr. Dattaram Chari and the Manager have started harassing me and other some other students by passing sarcastic comments and threatening.

Is this the ethical behavior of the manager in the interest of education of students? It is amply clear that the Manager runs the school not for the betterment of the students but to underscore his motive.

Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Morcha highly condemns such downcast acts of the manager.

We kindly request you to take necessary action at the earliest against the accused teacher as well as the manager in the interest of the students so that corporal punishments and harassment will stop immediately.

Thanking You.

Yours faithfully,

Gaunekar all out to bribe mamlatdar, deputy collector and Judge of Administrative Tribunal?

Mahendra Gaunekar is sending his chamchas to meet the tenants of Vanxim and they talk directly to them saying Gaunekar is ready to pay you’ll three times more, surrender everything. Gaunekar also says that you’ll are never going to win the court cases at the deputy collector in Panjim, Tiswadi mamlatdar etc. So how can Gaunekar claim saying such statements? Has he bought the deputy collector and mamlatdar too and also not forgetting administrative tribunal court?

How come it that Gaunekar knows the judgments before hand? Has he done the bribing to Deputy Collector, Mamlatdar and Administrative tribunal Court? Is there match fixing all through? There is a need of investigation in this matter.

Aadhaar Card Scrapped by Supreme Court

BMM welcomes Order

Bharat Mukti Morcha (BMM) welcomes Supreme Court order of 23rd September 2013 against Aadhaar Cards. Supreme Court ruling through its bench of Justices B. S. Chauhan and S. A. Bhobde held that Aadhaar Card cannot be mandatory for accessing public services and subsidies.

Times of India of 24th September 2013 reported about the Public Interest litigation (PIL) filed by the Petitioners, Justice Puttuswamy and another,  said they had ascertained that the Unique Identification Number Project proposed to give UID numbers not only to citizens but also to illegal migrants pursuant to a scheme framed by the government through an executive order of January 28, 2009. Referring to several judgments of the Supreme Court on right to privacy of a citizen guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution, the petitioners said, “Collecting biometric information as a condition precedent for the issue of Aadhaar card is an invasion of right to privacy of citizens and thereby this can only be done by a law enacted by Parliament and hence, beyond the executive power.”

Bharat Mutki Morcha has been agitating against Aadhaar cards for the past few years and this Supreme Court order is a welcome one. Indian government now ought to take immediate steps to delete the data collected from Aadhaar Cards and stop all the centers engaged in Aadhaar Card exercise.

In Goa too largely Aadhaar Card nuisance has been aggressively promoted by the State government. Gas cylinders too have been linked to Aadhaar card by HP, BP and Indane gas companies. Cooking gas is very basic need of human being.

Now the Supreme Court has ordered the non-applicability of Aadhaar Card for the following:
1.       Registration of marriages
2.       Salaries for government employees
3.       Provident Fund
4.       Bank account
5.       Gas Cylinders

Aadhaar Card is not compulsory any more. All the Centres involved in preparing Aadhaar card must stop with immediate effect in Goa too. Now that the Aadhaar Card is chucked out Gas cylinders must be sold at Rs 418/- as it was before introduction of Aadhaar Card without any complications.

Blackmailing for Aadhaar card

17th September 2013

To,

The Chief Secretary,

Goa Government,

Porvorim, Goa

Subject: Blackmailing for Aadhaar card

Sir,

This is to bring to your notice the statement in Rajya Sabha on 23rd August 2013 made by Rajeev Shukla, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs that Aadhaar Cards are not mandatory to avail subsidy on cooking gas or on any other matter too. He also stated that in case any public sector companies are making Aadhaar cards compulsory then the respective companies will be corrected. His statement was reported in newspapers in Goa.

The law relating to Aadhaar card is blocked by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance citing that this entire project lacks clarity of direction, waste of public resources and grave threat to the national security. Any promotions of Aadhaar cards must cease with immediate effect and data collected is liable to be destroyed.

Several advertisements in newspapers from Public sector companies dealing with supply of cooking gas namely from Hindustan Petroleum, Bharat Petroleum and Indane are insisting that Aadhaar card is necessary for the purpose of availing subsidies on domestic cooking gas.

The Petroleum companies are indulging in the affairs that are threat to national security without law being passed in the Parliament and even after the Public Statement on this in the Rajya Sabha on 23rd August 2013 and in Lok Sabha on 8th May 2013 by the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajeev Shukla. Petroleum companies are acting in violation of Indian Parliament.

Even the press release from the Prime Minister’s Office dated 2nd September 2013 did not deny that there the Parliament has not passed the law concerning Aadhaar Card enrollment.

Collectors in Goa too have been advocating for Aadhaar Cards and are giving certain deadlines for public in this regard.  Collectors are coming in media publicly and making what is illegal sounds so real to the people of Goa. South Goa Collector is an example in this regard who declared that Aadhaar cards and bank account are needed for procuring subsidies on cooking gas. Can Collector enforce Aadhaar number that has been blocked by Indian Parliament? In North Goa too the cooking gas subsidies has been linked up to the Aadhaar cards and bank account. This is an open revolt against Indian Parliament. The Collectors who enforce Aadhaar cards are liable to be terminated from their service for superseding the Parliament.

In an island of Vanxim the cost the cylinder as of 16th September 2013 is Rs.970/-. Pamphlets are already being distributed in all the 12 talukas of Goa regarding the same.

You are therefore urged on priority basis to correct the Petroleum Companies insisting on Aadhaar and bank account. People of Goa must not be fooled as this Bill is not passed in the Parliament and this very awareness is already created through our pamphlet distribution.

You are also urged to direct the North Goa and South Collectors to retract from their emphasis on enforcing Aadhaar Cards to avail cooking gas subsidies.

Immediate action on this from you will be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely
