Subject: Continues illegal trawl fishing in Zuari river at night

Sir/Madam,

This is further to our letter dated 20.08.2025 about illegal trawler fishing in Zuari river and other parts of Goa within specified area of 5 kms from the coast.

We have observed thst nearly dozen trawlers carrying on trawler fishing last night from 8.00 pm on 20.08.2025 to 3.00 am on 21.08.2025. When we contacted Fisheries Control room we were told that the Fisheries patrol boat is non-functional for the past one year. This is pathetic situation. 

Kindly take urgent steps and inform us immidiately to restore law and order situation in Zuari river with regard to trawlers on the prawl at night thereby repeating contempt of Bombay High Court at Goa directions in Writ Petition No. 370 of 2024 All Goa Small Scale Responsible Fisheries Union v/s State of Goa.
