Its massive violations of fishing rights today

22nd February 2015 witnessed new record for illegal fishing in Zuari river. At 7.00 am 25 trawlers in Zuari river. At 4.00 pm 20 trawler doing the same. So total violations are 45 for the day for trawlers alone. 

Besides there were 20 water sports boats in river engaged in water sports activities race.

Illegal fishing with police protection in Zuari river

According to the reports reaching from Bambolim coast at 2.30 pm 13 trawlers carried on illegal trawling. Harbour police in Vasco were informed immediately. Police boats arrive three hours later at 5.30 pm. even after police arrive trawlers did not move from the river and went to carry on fishing with police protection. When harbour police were called up they denied have provided police protection, said police might be from Coast Guard.

Massive fishing rights violations in Zuari from Grand Hyatt tourism boats

Reports reaching from Bambolim has indicated massive fishing rights violations in Zuari river today. According to the information received over 50 water sports boats are in the river and near 5 motored boats moving around in Zuari with open violations of fishing rights. State Government is actively abating the violations of fishing rights.

Trawlers continue to violate fishing rights

On 20th February at 4.30 pm two trawlers indulged in violation of fishing rights in Zuari river. These violations are continuing because of non-co-operation of Fisheries department to station permanent fishing vessel in Zuari river. Fisheries department is inactive to control illegal fishing for reason best known to them.

Bharat Mukti Morcha National President Waman Meshram roars in Margao

National President of Bharat Mukti Morcha Waman Meshram disclosed that 15 lakh children die every year in India out of malnutrition. All these children belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. He was speaking in his capacity as special guest at the Popular Front Foundation Day at a public meeting in Goa's Margao Lohia Maidan on 17th February 2015. He questioned those advocating for more children as to why no save these dying children? Is it because these are the children of SC, ST, OBC parents?

Largely attended meeting witnessed some very bold comments from Meshram that put few on dais red faced. He said that these children are not defended by any politicians even those elected from political parties. No member of Parliament is speaking about these children as their political parties are controlled by Brahmins who are historically oppressors of Indian People.

Waman Meshram in his political analysis of India pointed out that there is no democracy in India. Muslims he said had 33% share in power in 1947 that has been reduced to 2.5%. Meshram observed that ever since Brahmins took over power in 1947 Congress ruled for nearly 57 years and it is the Congress that is responsible for the systematic exclusion of Muslims from in India.

Another pertinent observation Meshram made was that it was Gandhi who is responsible for the demise of democracy in India by his imposition of joint electorate in the Country in 1932 by resorting to fast-unto death against separate electorate won by Dr. Ambdekar. He remarked that Oppressed has to build alliances with other oppressed and not with oppressors in order to complete path of liberation.

In the current political scenario people of India has no option but either to vote for Congress or BJP. Yet historically he pointed out that there were two freedom struggle in India one of Brahmins to free themselves from British and the second was of Bhahujan led by Jyotirao Phule, Shahu Maharaj and Dr.Ambedkar in order to achieve freedom from Brahmins who are also foreigners. One struggle got over in 1947 and Brahmins were freed from British while the second freedom struggle of Bhahujans to free from Brahmins that began in 1848 continues till date. 

Meshram said that the word 'Hindu' was a slang used by muslims (Mhugals) to the religion of Brahmins and rejected it till 1922 when Hindu Mahasabha was formed in order to transform Brahmins from minority into majority for the purpose of electoral gain.

Meshram questioned as to what was the problem before Muslims came to India. It cannot be Hindu-Muslim problem as there were no muslims then. Was it not a clash between brahmins versus others?

Rampant trawling continues in Zuari river

Today on 19 February 2015 there were 18 trawlers carrying on illegal fishing in Zuari river. When authorities were contacted at 7.30 am police boats entered Zuari river and intercepted three trawlers. Remaining went away into Arabian Sea were they have permission to carry on fishing. Repeated fishing here takes place only because of Fisheries department has not installed permanent patrol vessel.  

Fishing rights vioalations by Hotel Grand Hyatt in Zuari

According to reports reaching from Bambolim coast Hotel Grand Hyatt did sent out motored tourist boat in Zuari river on 19th February 2015 at 4.30 pm. Fishermen has objected the hotel from indulging in Fishing rights violation. The hotel has been built on the land that belonged tribal people but captured by Eurasian Bamons and through set of pressure tactics sold it to the Hotel Grand Hyatt and Aldeia de Goa. This has given rise to number of conflicts that continue to raze till date.

17 trawlers illegal fishing in Zuari river

According to the reports received at 4.30 pm 17 trawlers are engaged in illegal trawler fishing in Zuari river. Goa Government promotes the illegalities. MLA are silent as they are slave of their parties controlled by Eurasian Bamons.

Illegal fishing continues in Zuari river, 6 trawlers inside river

In spite of assurance to stop illegal fishing by the Director of fisheries today there were six trawlers engaged in illegal fishing by trawling. 

In the meanwhile Fishermen from Zuari coast connected with Bharat Mukti Morcha participated in public meeting of Popular Front of India in Margao's Lohia Maidan that was addressed by Bharat Mukti Morcha President Waman Meshram.

Fishermen takes to picket Fisheries department office in Panjim

Fishermen from Cacra, Nauxim, Odxel, Bambolim, and Siridao took to picketing of fisheries department office in Panjim today after receiving arrogant response from the Superintendent of Fisheries who is doing his best to promote illegal trawler fishing in Zuari through his repeated inaction. 

Today morning there were 16 trawlers illegally fishing in Zuari river and fisheries department adopted 'care-a-damn' attitude. Infuriated with such a behaviour fishermen entered the office of the department and questioned the authorities. Director escaped from the office only to return with Superintendent of fisheries at around 12.10 pm. Director Sharmila Monteiro was not committal on providing 24 hour surveillance of Zuari river to stop illegal fishing. She said department can station Patrol Boat only for 10 days in Zuari river and after that boat will have to be shifted to other areas of illegal fishing.
